I really like your content and plan to read each of your posts. To live is to die, a natural cycle – that is not to be feared.
Very true. Yet the fear is not death but rather it is a fear of loss of self as we know it in this life.
That is so true, the fear of losing the self that is the personality portion of who we think we are and also there is a bit of a control factor too I believe.
There is discussion in the literature about the control factor being the “self.” The “self” is afraid of non-being. Most mystical traditions indicate a need to negate the self to reach outside of our finite boundaries.
Do you have some literature that you can recommend as first steps in thinking about this?
Hi Rabbi, I am currently pursuing my graduate degree in pastoral care and I am always looking to find innovative ways to incorporate the Jewish voice. Glad I found your blog very inspired!
